The poster was designed by Pierre Étaix, a friend of Tati’s who then went on to direct films of his own.
Mon Oncle (“My Uncle”) is a 1958 film comedy by French filmmaker Jacques Tati. The film centers on the socially awkward yet lovable character of Monsieur Hulot and his quixotic struggle with postwar France’s infatuation with modern architecture, mechanical efficiency and consumerism.
