In one of the scene Gordon says: “This painting here. I bought it ten years ago for $60 000. I could sell it today for $600 000. The illusion has become real and the more real it becomes the more desperate they want it. Capitalism at it’s finest.”
Gekko’s office was, in fact, a converted auditorium in a Manhattan office building. In an effort to transform the surroundings into those suitable to Wall Street aristocracy, it was hung with original art by the likes of Picasso, Miro, and Louise Nevelson (Wall Street Production Information 6).
